I started this Saturday like I often do, at The Nook with a Bullet coffee, a thought, and a blank page.
A recurring theme the past several days had been the word intention. Specifically, as it relates to style. Not fashion, but how I choose to show up in the world. The clothes are just one expression of that. Style begins long before I walk into the closet.
A phrase shared with me more than once by a former boss came to mind: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” I’d heard it for years, but this morning it landed differently. It reminded me that perspective matters. And to me, perspective is a function of mindset.
Somewhere between that thought and a page full of scribbles in my Rocketbook, I found myself writing, “Mindset” as a Pillar. I immediately put down the teal pen and picked up the fuchsia one. This wasn’t just another idea. It felt like a revelation.
Not the missing piece, but the missing link. The keystone of the Johnny Chaz philosophy.
I jokingly started calling it The Fifth Beatle.
The more I sat with it, the more everything seemed to point back to mindset. Style is mindset. Curiosity is mindset. Perspective is mindset. Then it hit me.
“Style For Life” = Mindset
What excited me wasn’t finding another Pillar. It was realizing how many observations suddenly had a place to belong.
I had a feeling this one was going to change everything.
